Texas has its share of employment-related laws that apply to most employers, including laws that relate to unemployment compensation, payment of wages, employment agreements, workers’ compensation retaliation, and discrimination (similar to the federal prohibitions). In addition, Texas common law creates several legal theories on which employees can sue employers such as exceptions to the employment-at-will doctrine, invasion of privacy, and negligent hiring or retention. We are knowledgeable and experienced in defending such actions on every level that may arise.
